Nestled in the hills of Santa Barbara’s Riviera neighborhood, this striking home features timeless architecture and elegant interiors—but its surrounding landscape was once a different story. Overgrown and underutilized, the outdoor areas lacked space for gathering or entertaining beyond the existing pool.

The homeowners turned to Jodi G Designs to completely reimagine the grounds, transforming the steep hillside into a series of inviting, functional outdoor living spaces. With a vision of hosting friends, family, and future generations, Jodi set out to create a cohesive flow that honors the home’s design while making the most of the expansive property.

New hedges were added along the perimeter to create privacy from the road below, and a variety of mature trees were craned in to add beauty, texture, and shade. Thoughtfully designed stone staircases and pathways now wind through the property, connecting each distinct area—turning what was once an overgrown slope into a layered, luxurious outdoor retreat.
